Two+Two 2023: Thank you and Congratulations to all involved!

Two+Two

I can’t believe it’s already time for this “it’s a wrap” post. Two+Two 2023 had several challenges including a change of venue and a last-minute change of date due to the rail strikes, but everyone pulled together to make sure it could still happen, and what a day!

We had more support this year than ever before: almost 50 agencies and just under 100 mentors and Leaders! It always blows my mind how collaborative the marketing and creative industries are, 8 groups of Leaders and Mentors from different agencies, all pulling together, supporting and championing their student teams.

This year our brief saw us partnering with Stockport MBC’s Climate Action Now (CAN) team to tackle climate change. A fantastic brief co-written by David Campbell, one that resonated with every person in the room. Through the combined efforts of the council and businesses in the area, coordinated by #StockportCAN, the aim is to make Stockport carbon neutral by 2038. To do this, and to have an impact in a broader geographical area, we all need to make changes in our lives, some facts we discovered along the way can be found here.

I’m sure we’ll be posting lots of updates from the 3 winning teams, as they have much to look forward to! For those unfamiliar with the format: the students are grouped into colour streams, with each of the teams taking a name from the Chinese Zodiac. This year the ‘Pink Horses’, led by Angelo Giaquinto, CD at C21 and Jo Green, AD at 438 Marketing won Gold and will work with the APS Group and StockportCAN to develop their idea further.

The Orange Dragons took Silver. Their Leaders Mark Bottomley and Two+Two alumni Amira Barwany helped them win placements with Zeal Creative.

The Blue Roosters led by Alex Moran and Dave Armstrong took Bronze. Well done to them, they will spend a day at Havas Lynx Group.

For the first time we had 4th and 5th place prizes, generously offered by Fearless Adventures and Brandon Consultants respectively. The Yellow Horses took 4th place and the Red Horses were our 5th place winners. Congratulations to you all.

Massive, massive thanks to all our Leaders, Mentors & Judges, the Universities that encouraged and brought the largest student cohort we have ever had, the Sponsors, Partners and Creative Resourcers who made it all possible. It’s a big, nay huge list, because it takes so many people to make the day a success. Kudos and thanks to you all. The industry pulling together to help and encourage the next generation is a wonder to behold.

I hope you know how appreciated you all are!

Stok will no doubt be occupied by a number of lucky businesses next year, any ideas for our next venue? 😊
