Feeling fabulous with the Balance Collective
A few weeks back, we had the pleasure of spending some quality time with Clara Wilcox of the Balance Collective, as she guided us through several practical workshops that empowered us to feel fabulous about ourselves and the work we do! We had a fantastic time with Clara and wanted to tell you all about it.
A little about Clara and the Balance Collective
As a mother of two, Clara has been lucky enough to find herself working for companies that support and offer a healthy work-life balance. However, after hearing from other parents about their struggles to find a situation like hers, Clara decided it was time to spark a change, with the inception of the Balance Collective.
As a supporter of flexible working and career development, the Balance Collective offers coaching and support, both to parents looking to make a return to work and anyone looking for a confidence boost to improve their career prospects.
Our training with Clara focused on growing our self-confidence and building a sense of pride in the work that we do, through looking at how we see ourselves and how others see us.
We feel fabulous!
Our coaching lasted a couple of hours and took us through four different thought-provoking, confidence-boosting stages.
To kick things off, we were given a problem solving task, of drawing four connecting lines that would cross each of the dots that made up a square. It was a lot of fun and really got our brains working, preparing us for the rest of the session.
The next stage was very much centred around self-reflection and turning what we tend to see as a flaw, into something much more positive. From there, we worked with one another on an exercise that delved further into any qualities we are particularly proud of, that others could see too.
Finally, we spent some time thinking back over the past couple of hours, and with the help of Clara, set ourselves individual goals that we all look forward to achieving.
The time we spent with Clara and each other was quite an emotional experience, but it opened our eyes to just how differently you can see yourself compared to how others see you.
A little something from the woman behind it all
“It was so inspiring being with such a passionate team; over the two hours I could see their confidence grow and they finished with their heads held high, knowing just how special and unique they were”. – Clara Wilcox
We can’t thank you enough, Clara! Thank you for the time you spent with us and for helping each of us to see just how brilliant we can be!
