Over the years we have placed hundreds of Account Handlers in new roles across the North West of England and beyond, but we can’t say we have seen a formulaic list of questions that come up for each and every interview. That said here are a few Account Manager interview questions, for the creative industry, it might be nice to prepare for.
Account Manager Interview Questions
- Are you able to give us an example of a time you have managed a complex account and what you learned from it?
- Which planning or project management systems do you have experience in?
- Can you give us an example of managing/guiding/developing creatives and what you learned from that experience?
- How do you balance priorities and commercials with high quality work? Which side is stronger for you?
- Is there something you would really like to learn more about?
- What would you be most cautious of in your next career move?
We always think it is handy to prepare for the questions below when interviewing for any role:
- Which 3 words would your current colleagues use to describe to you?
- How to you fair in stressful situations
- Why are you leaving you current role.
We advise our candidates to take sometime to think about the questions to ask in a job interview, it takes a bit of the pressure off to have some tucked away.
A second stage interview is likely to include a case study or project where you are asked to detail difficult project. It’s worth taking time to think back across several of your projects over the years to understand the outcomes and how they were achieved.
Second stage account manager interview questions
- What was the issue and background?
- How did you come to be involved?
- What was the outcome?
- How did you navigate conflict in this or similar projects?
- What did you take away from this experience?
